Michelle Bachmann, At It Again! (VIDEO)

Crazy meets crazy, but sometimes, the first crazy says to the second crazy, "You're too crazy for me, I'm outta here!"

It's always fun to poke fun at Michelle Bacmann's utter-stupidity, and by extension the people she represents because they elected her, even AFTER she threw herself into crazy mode.

I've been developing a conspiracy theory about Michelle Bachmann. Could it be that she actually doesn't believe what she is saying, but wants national attention and fame that she just keep coming out to say it, and knows she has an ear- and mouthpiece on Fox News? I can understand her wanting to be famous; there are 435 representatives and locals fail to hear anything about the lower folks on the totem pole because nobody wants to talk to them. So what she does is go out and say crazy shit, gets the audience to follow what she is saying, and videos on YouTube skyrockets as she is consistently passed around, such as I am doing right now, and gets national attention and fame. It works, and therefore she keeps doing it. So that's my conspiracy theory: she really is an intellectual conservative that makes sense to her colleagues and other folks in private and makes a character in public, much like Stephen Colbert. However, if you're not conservative, you already know, he's joking.

I know what you're thinking, and I agree. My theory couldn't possibly be true. To go out in public and claim the Census is going to be used to round-up folks of an undesired race (maybe crazy white women?) is downright silly. To claim further that there should be a question to weed out illegal immigrants by asking "Are you an American citizen?" is downright hilarious. If I were an illegal immigrant, with everything else being equal, you know what I would do when I got my Census survey and it asked me that question? I would lie, and mark "Yes". There, it's now official and no harm can be done to me. Oh wait, there is harm: the statistics are now wrong. We now have no illegal immigration problem. Well, I guess problem solved? Of course, I overly simplified the situation, but the census is not for finding out how many citizens and non-citizens we have, but to find out the current demographics are in particular areas, and adjusting the seats in Congress accordingly. Sure, some states will benefit from illegal populations, but those states have been benefiting for more than the last Census in 2000. most illegal immigrants won't even be filling one out because they can't physically own property or most of the time rent property, so Michelle, I think you lose that argument, mainly because you're FROM MINNESOTA.

Again, even I don't believe my theory, but it was worth a shot, huh? I can dream of a less stupid world can't I? Or will I continually face stupid speech in this world, particularly from one Michelle Bachmann? Oh well, at least I can blog about her and say mean things and she really can't do anything about it.

Fox Noise is Given Taste of Own Pills (VIDEO)

So, sorry about another block between postings. I've been kinda preoccupied with other things the last couple of weeks. I'm actually do this today because I miss my fiance and she would want me to keep busy.

Anyway, up there was a video of Griff Jenkins being ambushed by a blogger. Kinda reversed, since Griff is usually the one doing the ambushing of bloggers and other liberals. Props to Adam, I believe is his name, for net letting go and not being badgered by the fact that Griff was the one with the microphone.

It's very annoying the tactics Fox uses to get interviews. How very low on the journalism totem pole is that? How desperate to paint the opposition or disagreers in a bad light are they? It's good to see that Griff got a taste of his own medicine.

There is also one extra bit in that clip that I would like to address: Griff mentions the 1st Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America. I'm sure my finance knows it better than he does since she just took Political Science. Please allow me to quote that amendment:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Which means that a private event that says "no press" has every right to block someone's "free speech" rights, because Congress hasn't made it law. Things said on this blog, the television, the radio, and other such media outlets are not allowed to say whatever they want to say and then say it was their first amendment right to do so. Utterly false. Your free speech is only protected if the government tries to make a law abridging your right to speak out against it. Like what Iran is doing right now with journalists and the protests. That shit is protected. But me calling Sarah Palin a retard (though she is) is not protected. If she could prove actual malice, I'd be in deep doo-doo.

Fox News is on Top...? (LINK)

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/04/01/fox-news-claims-9-of-top_n_181878.html

This is shocking to me. How is that a cable channel where facts and logic are optional wins ratings battles for cable and has the top 9 shows in cable news? I do not understand this. Obama wins by a large margin, by a huge electoral vote margin, along with the popular vote, and Congress gains huge Democratic majorities, a mandate if you will to change Washington. It is no secret Fox has been and is a cheerleader for the Bush Administration and Republicans. Only a few times have I seen on that channel a break from talking points or accountability toward the Republican party. Bush chose his interviews wisely, and most of the time it was on Fox. So how did Fox do it?

Because now there are not the cheerleaders. They now get to be the channel of the regular folk, not beholden to any major authority in politics. But none of the personalities have changed, save for Glenn Beck. How does that work when Sean Hannity or Bill O'Reilly are backing up President Bush's choice to enter Iraq to criticizing Obama for his own policies? Sure, they might not agree, but the viewers should not have changed. If you hated liberals and liked Bush, then you watched Fox. If you hate liberals and like Republicans, then you watch Fox. Where's the disconnect? Where do the increased viewership come from?

I watch all three cable news channels (basically whichever doesn't have a commercial on), and I can't see why anybody would want to watch Billo the Clown, Hannity the manatee, or Glenn "I'm fucking crazy" Beck. It is too bad people fall for this trap of pure populism. I can understand staunch conservatives watch Fox, but normal folk is just ridiculous. This is what adds to the ignorance of Americans, our ethnocentrism, and our arrogance toward the rest of the world.

People need to stop giving Fox the respect it doesn't deserve in the form of ratings. I hope it changes and Fox makes some changes.

Linsey Graham is a Tool

It's been a while since I've posted and I apologize. I've been really busy and lazy! Ok, so this got me a little annoyed yesterday: This is Sen Lindsey Graham (R-SC) on Fixed Noise complaining that Obama has been AWOL during these past 2 weeks in trying to get a stimulus billed passed. He says it about 1:30 mark of the video.

Now I don't know about anyone else, but what is this guy smoking? Where has he been for the last month? Perhaps for the last 2 weeks? If anyone's been AWOL, it's you, Sen. Graham! Obama has been pushing this stimulus plan, even before he was elected. He was pushing it day-in and day-out while he was President-Elect. He hasn't stopped leading the fight on for this bill. What do you think all the lunches and meetings have been with Republican lawmakers have been for? For nothing? Did he invite you and others to cocktail parties because he's got a huge new house for everyone to see? I'm sure you've seen it before. He won the election and the people spoke the Republicans should sit down and shut up.

It doesn't make any sense for peeps to be blaming Obama for their own stupidity. It's unbelievable to me that more people haven't told their representatives to stop talking and start acting. You work for us. Not for your own ideologies, and certainly not for your own personal gain. You have absolutely no idea what the situation is because you're a US Senator and save for being a horrible human being, you can't lose your job until your term ends. You've got more than one house most likely. You don't see what the economy is doing to normal working folks. Stop lolly-gagging and shut the fuck up. I don't understand how we get anything done in this country with fucktards like Lindsey Graham running around with loose lips that sink ships.

It's a catch-22 at this point, because we've got politicians and then we've got politicians. They never stop talking. This shit is extremely simple. A government cannot work if there is constant roadblocking. We might as well sit for the next 4 years with our hands neatly folded why we wait for the next election, watching the world crumble around us. Who cares, right?

I am so fucking glad life is progressive in nature, and hopefully by the time I'm an old man I can see the crazy religious right go down in flames, as it is surely beginning now.

Karl Marx & Joe Biden... So Not Joking!

Look at this from over the weekend where Joe Biden was interviewed by a central Florida newswoman:

Ok, so this has gotten some airtime in the last day or so, and I've seen two sides to the argument on this interview and Biden saying "is this a joke?" Today, I watched a bit of Studio B with Shepard Smith on Fixed News, and it was my first look into the situation. He was pissed at the insinuation that Biden question the journalistic integrity of the newswoman (WFTV's Barbara West). He said he could not see why it was not a valid and apt interview. He mainly focused on the section of the interview where she quotes Marx and asks Biden if Obama should be equated to socialist ideas and Marx. He interviewed a clearly conservative public relations expert who agreed with Shep. Shep was visibly annoyed at the situation. Here is the segment in its entirety (I found it on Studio B's page on FoxNews.com, and it was the MAIN video staring me right in the face):

Then, when I got home from work, I tuned into my favorite news show, Countdown with Keith Olbermann. He had, obviously, the exact opposite opinion of the situation. Also, a much shorter segment. I hate to bore you with videos, but I like the information to come directly from the source instead of through my filter of a brain. (Notice how Palin pronounces "inaugural". Great stuff!)

Now he says that West, the woman who interviewed Biden, stated that she's a health correspondent. I followed up on that. This link kinda say that: http://www.wftv.com/station/1874549/detail.html. The other purported piece of info is that her husband is a Republican strategist or consultant. She's a registered Republican and her husband, Wade West has consulted numerous Republican candidates in the past (http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/entertainment_tv_tvblog/2008/10/wftvs-barbara-1.html)

Here's the thing: Politics have polarized this country. It is getting harder and harder for a journalist not to show their bias. For some, they love to hold it on their sleeve. In this case, what I take issue with the is Shep's reaction. I do not understand the outrage. Why is comparing Obama to Marx so apt? I do not think it is. Redistributing wealth is the name of the game when you tax someone. Person A makes $10. The government taxes Person A $2. They then take that $2and use it for anything their hearts desire. Like funding polar bear mating rituals or beaver DNA. Scientist B then receives said $2 to do said research. I don't know about you guys, but that seems like a redistribution of Person A's wealth to me. I don't understand why so many Americans think socialism is so bad. It's already infused with our capitalistic society. Schools, some energy providers, some forms of health care, and at least in the US, Social Security, are all forms of socialistic principles working for the betterment of our capitalistic society. "Spreading the wealth around seems OK to me, since the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer, mostly by no fault of their own. I love Biden's response of asking whether these questions were jokes and real questions.

I think Barack Obama hits the nail square on the head when he says people like him can afford to pay higher taxes and still live comfortably. The middle class drives the economy. If consumers are not consuming, the producers aren't producing, which means workers aren't working, and around the down spiral we go. Economics can be simple. We have to make sure the right people are getting the help they deserve, Democrats, Republicans and the other crazy people who inhabit this country.

Perhaps this Barbara West character could stick to reporting on health stories and not asking the tough questions. Unfortunately for the folks who watch Fox news, the line reads, "HOW DARE BIDEN TREAT HER SUCH A DISRESPECTFUL WAY!!! SHE'S A JOURNALIST!!" So much for the facts, and so much for journalistic integrity. "....Senator Biden, is it true that Barack Obama is a Muslim?...." The world may never know.

I hope that post was cohesive. It is late and I'm tired. Thanks for reading.
